It’s Quiet Here

Sorry we haven’t updated in a while.  Things have been awfully quiet around here.  We had a wonderful Christmas with our family and everyone was very sweet to remember Haven.  He got spoiled rotten his first Christmas!

We found out on December 27th that our case got submitted to the Embassy.  We were so thrilled and still had very high hopes his case would clear quickly.   We celebrated Ethiopian Christmas on January 7th, with no new updates about Haven.   We really thought he would have been home by now, so each passing day makes me more discouraged and more anxious.

From what information we have heard from other families there is simply no consistency in this process.  It may take 6 days to pass Embassy or 6 weeks.  It all depends on each individual case.  Our case passed through the first stage quickly and has been in the investigation stage for the past 3 weeks without any updates.

We have people in Washington fighting for us and we have our incredible community of friends and family around us praying for us.  Honestly, I am praying for God to move mountains.  For Him to get our son home as soon as possible.

We are ready.  The house is ready.  There is really nothing else to do but wait.  So we wait with our hope and faith in the Lord.  Psalm 27: 14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

(And yes, we still have our Christmas tree up ready to celebrate with Haven just as soon as he is here.  He has the cutest “My First Christmas” outfit ready for a photo shoot!)
